How to use this reference
Search by event, account, or module. Use the impact filters to isolate cash-basis journals, no-entry operational events, budgetary/encumbrance events, or configuration-dependent cases. Account names are generic examples; the configured chart of accounts and Subledger Accounting rules remain authoritative.
Critical scope boundary
- “Cash basis” does not mean every Oracle transaction creates a journal.
- Budgetary control and encumbrance accounting are separate from actual-ledger cash accounting.
- Tax, governmental reporting, modified-cash, statutory, and organization-specific rules can change the result.
Scope and source notes
- Oracle states that the cash-basis method for Payables and Receivables generates accounting for events where cash is exchanged; non-cash events can be processed without affecting ledger balances.
- Oracle documents Budgetary Control and Encumbrance Accounting as independent features; cash control budgets validate payments against a cash budget.
- EPM planning, forecasting, and consolidation activity does not automatically equal a cash-basis actual-ledger journal. Only an imported or posted journal affects GL.
- SCM operational events may feed Cost Accounting or Payables, but the cash-basis entry is ordinarily tied to the payment/receipt event, subject to configured SLA rules.
